Classes Canceled Tuesday At Bridgeport Public Schools

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Public Schools will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 16, due to the inclement weather that swept through Connecticut overnight, district officials announced.

"Due to forecasted freezing rain and potentially unsafe conditions, Bridgeport Public Schools will be closed today, Tuesday, January 16, 2024," officials wrote on the district's website. "Non-essential staff are advised not to report to work during this closure."

Snow accumulations were estimated to reach 4 inches on Tuesday in parts of the state, with the storm expected to possibly last to midday.
