CPR Administered To Infant Found Underwater In Bridgeport Bathtub: FD

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 9-month-old was found unresponsive Monday afternoon after the child was underwater in a bathtub in a home in the 100 block of Parrott Avenue in Bridgeport, according to fire officials.

A person in the home administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation to the child before emergency personnel arrived, and according to officials, "the child had a pulse, was breathing, and then began crying" before being taken to an area hospital.

The incident occurred at about 4 p.m. How long the child was underwater, and details on the status of the child's condition, were not disclosed.
