CT Police Lieutenant Accused Of Being Home Instead Of Working

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Police Lt. Stephen Shuck, a 34-year veteran of the department, was arrested this week on a charge of first-degree larceny after an investigation determined that he was often at home when he was supposed to be working, reports the Connecticut Post.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, on at least a dozen instances, Shuck was home or somewhere else when he was supposed to be working, based on information from a GPS tracking device officials clandestinely placed on his vehicle.

As a result, authorities say that he was illegally paid thousands of dollars in overtime for no-show work assignments, and Shuck, 64, now faces the possibility of 20 years in prison, if convicted. He also could lose his pension, according to the publication.
