CT's Beardsley Zoo In Bridgeport Receives $20,000 Donation
The funding is from the Laub Foundation, a Trumbull-based private charitable trust established by Bernice Laub thirty years ago.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The private, charitable trust the Laub Foudation recently donated $20,000 to the Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, due to the zoo's care for animals, according to officials.
The Trumbull-based Laub Foundation was created thirty years ago by Bernice Laub, and is managed by Marilyn Ann Elias, Laub's cousin.
"A great big THANK YOU to Marilyn Ann Elias for selecting the Zoo as the recipient for a $20,000 grant," zoo officials wrote on Facebook (see below).

Added Elias, "I chose the Zoo as a grant recipient because I admire, applaud and am comforted by the Zoo’s mission statement of helping fragile wildlife populations and ecosystems, and all the steps the Zoo takes to accomplish this mission."
The zoo, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2022, is a nonprofit organization that offers educational programs, and works to protect endangered species, among other efforts, the Trumbull Times reported.
