Driver Injured In Crash Into Pizza Sign In Bridgeport: Police
The early Sunday crash occurred at the intersection of Huntington Turnpike and Minnesota Avenue in Bridgeport, according to authorities.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 35-year-old Bridgeport woman was injured early Sunday when the vehicle she was operating smashed into a stop sign and the sign at Vinny's Pizza at the intersection of Huntington Turnpike and Minnesota Avenue in Bridgeport, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m. A surveillance video of the crash can be viewed here.
"Upon arrival, fire units started extrication of one party and completed within 10 minutes," Shawnna White, Bridgeport's Public Information Officer, told Patch. "The driver of the vehicle was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries."

According to White, the driver is not facing charges.
Patch reached out to the pizzeria for comment, but did not immediately receive a reply.

The Connecticut Post reported that the restaurant is not temporarily shutting down as a result of the crash, because the sign is away from the building.
