IN my best estimation the poem ANNABEL LEE was indeed a loving memory of a courtship perhaps between EDGAR ALLAN POE and this woman who he seemed to have worshiped.I feel that POE had a deep love connection with ANNABEL LEE and they were sharing a love that was so beautiful until her untimely death perhaps.POE seemed to be living in the past with her in his thoughts .HE did not want to accept the fact she was taken from him by a chilling wind.The words of his poem make the reader think about the possibility of a love interest with POE but she was gone but he treasured her memory never letting go -living in a world of memories nothing more but so real to him as though she were still there next to him.This is what his poem ANNABEL LEE made me think.Read his poem and give me feedback on what you feel POE was emotionally tied to.
