Explosion/Fire Reported In Bridgeport: Police

From Bridgeport Police:

Bridgeport Fire Department is on-scene at Lafayette Street for a removal of contained chemicals. "This incident evolved from a female party coming to Fire HQ with contained Nitrous Acid," police said. "Incident is still active. BPD on-scene & CT DEEP notified. No threat to the community."

"EXPLOSION. At 0740hrs BFD responded to a preliminary report of an explosion on Island Brook Ave. On-scene reports from Command indicate some sort of explosion/fire involving a vehicle at a scrapyard. No injuries being reported. Active incident."
