FBI Pays Bridgeport Government A Visit

FBI agents met with city officials over a scandal involving the sale of scrap metal.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — FBI agents visited the Bridgeport Department of Finance as part of an ongoing probe into the sale of scrap metal by members of the public facilities department.

An internal investigation revealed that scrap metal was sold by department workers and the cash was kept in an off-books account, according to the Connecticut Post.

Deputy Director Joe Tiago and another worker were fired while two others including Public Facilities Director John Ricci were disciplined.
