Firearms, Hundreds of Prescription Pills Seized in Arrest of Bridgeport Woman: State Police
The suspect, who lives within 1,500 feet of Bridgeport's Harding High School, was investigated for allegedly selling drugs.

Bridgeport, CT - A 49-year-old Bridgeport woman was arrested on warrant on narcotics charges early Wednesday after police raided her Bell Street home and seized hundreds of prescription pills and several firearms, according to state police.
Arrested was Miriam Almourtada-Cotto who was charged with:
- Sale of Narcotics,
- Sale of a Controlled Substance
- Sale of Narcotics within 1,500 feet of a School
- Possession of Narcotics with the Intent to Sell
- Failure to Keep Prescriptions in their Proper Containers
She was arrested at about 5 a.m. when members of the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force and Bridgeport Police Emergency Services Unit raided her home.

"The warrant was the result of an investigation into the sale of prescription pills by Miriam Almourtada-Cotto," wrote state police in a release. "Detectives conducted a search of the residence, which is located within 1,500 feet of Harding High School, and located hundreds of prescription pills and a number of handguns and rifles."
Almourtada-Cotto was not charged in connection with the firearms, but that investigation is continuing, according to state police. Authorities did not disclose the type of prescription pills that were seized.

She was held in lieu of $100,000 Non-Surety Bond and is scheduled to appear at the Bridgeport Superior Court on July 27.
