Firefighters Extinguish An Apartment Fire In Bridgeport: FD

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport firefighters extinguished an apartment fire Wednesday afternoon in the 2500 block of Main Street, according to authorities.

"The first arriving unit found heavy fire coming from a second floor apartment in the rear of the building," wrote Bridgeport Deputy Fire Chief Mark Cody in a statement. "An aggressive interior attack commenced, and the fire was brought under control in less than 30 minutes."

No injuries were reported in the 1:30 p.m. blaze.

The Bridgeport Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
