Gas Odor Reported In Bridgeport 'Not Life-Threatening,' Officials Say

Many people reported the scent to Bridgeport's Emergency Communications Center, according to officials. But there is no need to fear.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Officials are still working to determine the cause of a gas odor reported on several streets across Bridgeport Tuesday afternoon, but it has been confirmed not to be life-threatening, the city said in a news release Tuesday afternoon.

"If you do not have a medical emergency, or are not experiencing any symptoms, there is no need to call 911 as our emergency communications and operations centers have previously been made aware," according to officials.

The Bridgeport Fire Department is on scene throughout the city, officials said.
