Grandson Accused Of Manslaughter In Death Of Bridgeport Man, 68

The victim was found unresponsive inside his home and pronounced deceased in February.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A grandson has been accused of manslaughter in the death of his grandfather, a 68-year-old Bridgeport man who was killed in February, according to Bridgeport police.

Jeffrey Lindo was found unresponsive in his Charles Street home on Feb. 20, and was pronounced dead. Three days earlier, he had been assaulted in his home during a domestic dispute. Lindo lived in the home with his daughter and grandson, according to police.

In May, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner notified Bridgeport police that Lindo's cause of death was complications of blunt impact injury of the head with subdural hemorrhage, and the manner of death was homicide.

As a result, Bridgeport police obtained a warrant, and on Wednesday arrested Lindo's grandson, Kareem Williams, 24, on a charge of first-degree manslaughter.

Williams is being held in lieu of bail of $350,000, and he is scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Thursday.

They did an excellent job taking the suspect into custody safely and without incident."
