Hartford Healthcare Urologist Honored with 2026 Future of Healthcare Award

The Greater Bridgeport Medical Association (GBMA) has announced that a Bridgeport urologist has been selected to receive a 2026 Future of Healthcare Award, recognizing outstanding healthcare professionals under age 40 who are making a meaningful impact through leadership, innovation, service, and dedication to improving healthcare in the Greater Bridgeport region.

Christine Liaw, MD, a board-certified urologist with Hartford HealthCare's Tallwood Urology & Kidney Institute, is being recognized for her commitment to exceptional patient care, surgical excellence, and advancing the field of urology through research and innovation.

Serving as Director of Endourology for Hartford HealthCare's Fairfield Region, Dr. Liaw specializes in the treatment of kidney stones, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and other complex urologic conditions using advanced minimally invasive and endoscopic surgical techniques. Her expertise allows patients to benefit from the latest surgical advances while receiving compassionate, personalized care.

Following her urology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Dr. Liaw completed a prestigious fellowship in Endourology at the Mayo Clinic, where she further refined her expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgical procedures. In addition to her clinical practice, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and continues to contribute to the advancement of urologic care through research and innovation.

Dr. Liaw will be honored during the inaugural Future of Healthcare Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course in Fairfield. The event will celebrate healthcare professionals who are helping shape the future of medicine and improve the health of communities throughout the Greater Bridgeport region.
