Helping The Youth Find Their Why

On a gray Saturday in a Windsor High School classroom the scent of youthful angst filled the air. Young men from ages 10-18 attentively listened to the CEO and Founder of THE BERNARD GROUP LLC, Gregory Bernard,  provide pearls of wisdom about the importance of finding their why in life. Mr. Bernard spoke passionately about his life and the struggles that brought him to finding his “WHY” and challenged the young minds to think about their future. He touched on several thought provoking topics and conducted exercises that buzzed the young men and fueled them with positive energy. He also encouraged them to “Hustle for your last name, not your first name” which charged the young men to think about the legacy they would establish for their family and loved ones.

This powerful presentation was one of many during The BlackManCan Institute held in Windsor CT which is the 4th stop on the TheBlackMan 2016 Tour. TheBlackManCan Institute is designed to uplift, empower, educate, motivate young men of color. The purpose of  The Black Man Can Institute is to provide comfort and support for boys of color. Boys of Color attending TheBlackManCan Institute can be assured that their cultural needs will be addressed and they will be free to express themselves while fostering brotherhood.  The Founder and Chief Visionary Officer Brandon Frame launched The BlackManCan Institute in 2013 and recently received national attention by being recognized as a BET Next in Class award recipient.
