High School Student Shot Dead in Bridgeport

The teen was sitting in a car Friday when he was shot to death, police said.

BRIDGEPORT, CT-- A teen who was acquitted by a jury of a downtown shooting was shot to death Friday in The Hollow.

Khalil Diaz, 17, was shot to death in a car, according to the Connecticut Post. Police believe the shooting is gang-related.

A suspect is in custody, but wasn't immediately identified by police. Two detectives were in the area when the shooting occurred and chased down the suspect.

Diaz was a student at Harding High School. He was found not guilty in February of a August 2014 shooting.
