Huge Reward Offered In Bridgeport For Information Leading To Arrest In 2020 Murder: Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A $50,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest in 2020 murder of Heriberto Marquez in Bridgeport, according to police.

Marquez, 24, was shot in the head and killed just before midnight on Aug. 29, 2020, near the corner of Iranistan Avenue and Hanover Street. Bridgeport police described it as an execution-style murder.

"Detectives have established persons of interest," Bridgeport Police Det. Jeffrey Holtz wrote in a statement. "They are looking for additional information leading to an arrest, or arrests."

The Marquez case was featured in the second episode of Park City Confidential, the department's cold case murder video series.

Funding for the reward is being offered by the state's Division of Criminal Justice.
