JACKIE ROOSEVELT ROBINSON was born JANUARY 31-1919 IN CAIRO GEORGIA.He-was about a year old when his family moved to PASADENA CALIFORNIA.JACKIE passed away OCTOBER 24TH 1972.HE was the first black athlete to play major league baseball.HE will always be remembered HE made history in 1947 breaking the color barrier and went on to play for THE BROOKLYN DODGERS.HE was very talented and versatile player.HE was the NATIONAL LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR for his first season and made 6 trips to the WORLD SERIES.HE was inducted into the HALL OF FAME in 1962.JACKIE helped win 6 pennants for the DODGERS as well as a WORLD SERIES.ON OCTOBER 24,1972 9 days after the WORLD SERIES at age 53 he died of a heart attack at home 95 CASCADE RD.NORTH STAMFORD CT.The world indeed lost a true champion of baseball.
