While working on “Clash of The Choirs,” Greg sang back-up on Michael Bolton’s performance of “When a Man Loves a Woman” and was part of a sight-reading and fast-study group hand-picked from each choir for a live performance on NBC’s “The Today Show” featuring Gloria Estefan. Greg has also led the house band at The Newport Blues Cafe in beautiful Newport, R.I., and enjoyed great success with his three-year residency at the critically-acclaimed Blues Night at The Owl Shop on the campus of Yale University in New Haven, Conn. The Greg Sherrod Band plays many private events and functions, including being selected to play the inauguration of Yale University’s 23rd president, Peter Salovey. The Greg Sherrod Band also supported The Johnny Winter Band on Johnny’s last U.S. show before his passing. In August 2014, Greg performed in front of 25,000 people with The Disco Biscuits during their headlining set at The Gathering Of The Vibes Music Festival in Bridgeport, Conn., which also included original members of the Grateful Dead.
