Juvenile Charged In Bridgeport Homicide
A juvenile was charged in the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Bridgeport juvenile has been charged in a homicide earlier this month, according to police. A 16-year-old was charged with first-degree manslaughter with a firearm and additional firearm-related crimes.
Police received a call Oct. 16 reporting that Nigel Powell, 16, suffered a fatal gunshot wound inside a home on Valley Avenue. The incident was reported as a self-inflicted gunshot wound, but detectives determined that the shot had been fired by another person.
On Monday, a 16-year-old was arrested after he turned himself into police.
