IT seems like yesterday I was buying a ticket to enter the biggest ,most beautiful theater at the time ''THE POLI THEATER''.ONE of about 20 theaters for our entertainment at the time.IN the 1920's Sylvester POLI brought to us the biggest and the most beautiful theater ever to be erected in our city.IT was located at 1325 MAIN STREET IN BRIDGEPORT,CT.IT was indeed BRIDGEPORT'S CROWN JEWEL.I remember it so well-,so beautifully built,so luxurious,so stunning with its'beauty.IT was breath taking when you entered the theater.NO other theater could match its'radiance.Sadly it sits humbly falling to ruins where at one time it was indeed the star theater here.Perhaps it will never materialize again but the memories of this symbol of entertainment will remain with me forever.
