BRIDGEPORT, CT — A man suffered minor injuries Monday night when authorities said he fell off the platform and onto the train tracks at the Water Street station in Bridgeport.

The incident occurred just before 9 p.m., and the man rolled under, but was not hit by, an Amtrak train, according to Tiadora Josef, Bridgeport's Director of Public Information.

"Investigation found the man was stumbling on the platform and unsteady on his feet before falling; landing halfway between the train and the platform," Josef wrote in a statement. "He did not make contact with the train."
