Man Shot To Death In Bridgeport

A man was shot and killed in Bridgeport overnight.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 38-year-old man was shot and killed in the early morning hours Friday, according to a statement from police. The department's Shotspotter sensors detected the gunfire at 96 Remington St.

As officers responded to the scene, dispatchers received several calls regarding shots fired shortly after 1:30 a.m. and a report of a victim lying in the street.

The victim suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives are processing a crime scene on Remington Street and are actively pursuing leads. The victim’s identity will be released at a later time pending autopsy.
