Bridgeport Man Fatally Shot Identified By Bridgeport Police

BRIDGEPORT, CT — The 55-year-old Bridgeport man, who was shot multiple times and died over the weekend has been identified by Bridgeport police.

Raul A. Torres-Santiago was dropped off at the emergency room entrance of Bridgeport Hospital Saturday evening. He underwent emergency surgery, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at about 1:35 a.m. on Sunday.

"Homicide detectives worked throughout the overnight and early morning hours on the case," said Bridgeport Police Det. Jeffrey Holtz in a statement. "The investigation is centering on the lower portion of East Main Street."

Additional details of the shooting were not disclosed.

An autopsy was performed on Torres-Santiago at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington on Monday morning, according to police.

"The results are pending," Holtz said. "In the likelihood his death is ruled a homicide, it would be the [seventh] in Bridgeport in 2026."
