Milford Police Find Handgun in Vehicle, Bridgeport Resident Didn't Have a Permit: Police

Milford police said the incident occurred on Halloween.

MILFORD, CT — A traffic stop in Milford led to the discovery of a handgun in a vehicle, police said.

Police said on Oct. 31 officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Schoolhouse Road and Bridgeport Avenue for an equipment violation.

Investigation led to the arrest of Geovanny Sierzant, 23, of Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport, who was found to have a handgun in the vehicle, under the driver's floor mat, police said.

He does not possess a valid Connecticut pistol permit, police said.

Sierzant is charged with weapon in a vehicle, misuse of license plate, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and driving without insurance.

He was released on a promise to appear in Superior Court, Milford on Nov. 29.
