Moore For Mayor Supporters Host Meet And Greet
Supports for Marilyn Moore's Bridgeport mayoral run are hosting a meet and greet event.

From Marilyn Moore Campaign: On Friday, March 8, Supporters of Marilyn Moore, Beryl Kingston, Cynthia Maigan, Emma Brooks, and Vyola Parker, will be hosting a fundraising meet and greet event for a mayoral candidate of Bridgeport at Move Yacht Club, 220 Waterview Avenue, in Bridgeport. The event will take place from 6 to 8 PM. There will be food and a cash bar. Donations will be collected at the door.
This event is one of several fundraising meet and greets being hosted for Moore this month as she embarks on her campaign for mayor, and will offer constituents an opportunity to support Moore and to get to know her and her platforms.
It was during her run for senator of the 22nd District in 2014 that Moore first became known in state politics. Moore spent many years supporting progressive candidates prior to unseating a 3-term Democratic state Senator in 2014. She then survived a 2016 primary challenge by the then-Bridgeport City Council President, a close ally of the Democratic Town Committee Chairman. Moore proudly holds a reputation for being independent of the Bridgeport Democratic Town Committee, and, if elected, she would become the city’s first black chief executive and its second female mayor.

“I was born and raised in Bridgeport,” said Moore. “I love our city and I firmly believe that, with the right leadership in place, we will realize our fullest potential and ensure that our city works, in a principled and ethical way, for all of its citizens. Together, we’ll make Bridgeport a place where people want to develop businesses, boost investment, and grow real, lasting confidence and pride in our city. Together, we’ll fight for a city with strong public schools and address youth and gun violence. Together, we’ll seek out solutions with proven effective outcomes to reduce poverty and crime and cultivate a relationship of trust and mutual support between our police and our residents. This is what I believe and what I am promising as mayor.”
Primary election day in Bridgeport will take place on Tuesday, September 10, and is only open to voters registered with a political party. General election day in Bridgeport will be on Tuesday, November 5, and is open to all voters, including unaffiliated voters.
