Multiple Families Displaced After Bridgeport Apartment Fire
No injuries were reported in the Friday morning blaze, according to fire officials.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — An early morning fire in the 600 block of North Avenue in Bridgeport Friday has led to the temporary displacement of multiple families, according to fire officials.
No injuries were reported in the 4:40 a.m. blaze, which started in one of the residential units above a commercial building, fire officials said. No injuries were reported.
Firefighters were called to the scene after a motorist reported seeing flames coming from a building while driving on Route 8.

The large structure occupies the entire parcel between North and Housatonic avenues.
"Incident Command reported the fire was confined to the residential portion of the second and third floors," fire officials said in a statement. "All searches negative."

The exact number of displaced families was not immediately known, but all are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
