Murder Suspect Charged with Punching Bridgeport Diner Owner After Complaining About Cold Food: Report

The man, who is awaiting trial for allegedly killing a 21-year-old with his pickup truck, is also accused of threatening police officers.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A Fairfield man, who is free on bond as he awaits trial for allegedly killing a 21-year-old Bridgeport man with his pickup truck in 2014, is accused of punching the owner of the New Colony Diner on Main Street in the face after complaining that his food was cold, according to the Connecticut Post.

Daniel Tepfer of the Post reports Dennis Berrios, 37, was arrested for the diner incident around 2 a.m. on Saturday after police pulled him over while he was driving on Main Street with two flat tires.

Police said Berrios was taken into custody following a struggle and at one point threatened to kill police officers’ families, according to Tepfer.

Berrios, who wears an ankle monitor while he awaits the murder trial, allegedly struck and killed Tyron Tate with his pickup truck after telling detectives Tate and his friends had been throwing rocks at his truck, according to the Post.
