NFL Player Gives Back To Bridgeport Hospital

An NFL player with ties to the state recently donated 100 pizzas to healthcare workers.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — An NFL linebacker recently made a special trip to Bridgeport Hospital, according to Yale New Haven Health's Facebook page. Tyler Matakevitch, a linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, donated 100 pizzas made by Colony Pizza to hospital staff.

"Tyler’s mom is a nurse and understands and appreciates everyone’s team effort. A wonderful act of kindness," the post reads. "Tyler is looking forward to playing with the Bills next season. Thank you, Tyler, for your kindness during this challenging time!"

Matakevitch, who attended St. Joseph High School in Trumbull, played for the Pittsburgh Steelers for four years. He recently signed a two-year deal with the Buffalo Bills.
