Mario J. Amaral, age 89, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of 66 years to Dorothy (Komorofski) Amaral passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Mario was born in Bridgeport, CT on March 17, 1929 to the late Manuel and Philomena Amaral. He graduated from Central High School in 1947 and served in the Army in the Korean War. After discharge, he worked as a Foreman at the Bridgeport Brass Company and Avco Lycoming. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. His all-time passion was playing golf at Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course where he was the Senior Club Champion twice.
Mario is survived by his wife, Dorothy, three children; Mark Amaral and wife Tina, Karen Bauco and husband John, Craig Amaral and wife Lisa. Two special grandsons; Joseph and Daniel Bauco, a loving brother, Ernest Amaral and special cousin, Antoinette Letezzeio and husband Charlie, sisters-in-law and husbands; Marie and John Tedesco, Bernie and Tony Capozziello, Elaine and Jim Davins along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Evelyn Amaral.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY in St. Margaret’s Shrine, 2523 Park Ave., Bridgeport for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery, Stratford. Friends may call on Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Parente-Lauro Funeral Home, 559 Washington Ave., Bridgeport. Mario’s family would like to thank the 6th floor nurses, doctors, aides, and techs at St. Vincent’s Medical Center for all their kindness and compassion they showed to him.
