Obituary: Elizabeth K. Smith, 100, Of Black Rock
Betty grew up in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield and attended Roger Ludlowe High School and graduated from Bassick High School.

Elizabeth K. Smith, age 100, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, beloved wife of the late Francis P. Smith, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 5, 2024, due to congestive heart failure.
Born in Bridgeport on July 15, 1923, Betty grew up in the Greenfield Hill section of Fairfield and attended Roger Ludlowe High School and graduated from Bassick High School. She would have been 101 this coming July.

Betty's memory will be lovingly remembered by her son, Wayne Smith, 67, who is a professional driver and enjoys martial arts and photography; two grandsons, Wayne Smith, Jr., 51, who owns a demolition company and Daniel Lee, 39, who is a chef; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers, who were all veterans, with one having fought in the Battle of the Bulge at Normandy Beach on D Day.
A service was held at Lesko Funeral Home on Thursday, Jan. 11. Interment followed at St. John Cemetery, Norwalk.
