Evelyn Charlotte (Valentine) Widinghoff, age 95 of Bridgeport, widow of Richard Widinghoff, passed away July 16, 2017 in Bridgeport Manor. Evelyn was born in Portchester, NY, April 4, 1922, daughter of the late Octave LeClair Valentine and Etta (Kerwin) Valentine.

She was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1939 and of Booth & Bayless Commercial School of Bridgeport.

She was a secretary for many years and later was a salesperson and typist at the former D.M. Read’s Department Store of Bridgeport until her retirement. She is survived by her daughters Lynne Nastasia and her husband Michael of Milford, and Leigh Erlacher and her husband Reed of Florida; her granddaughter Claire Reid and her husband James of Florida; her sister Gail Crowell and her husband Floyd of California; her nieces Virginia Kabe and her husband Joseph of Clinton, Joyce Corey and her husband Ralph of Maine, Evva Burkardt and her husband John of California; and her nephew Jeff Crowell of California.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law’s Barbara Lou House, and Marge Raper; and her nephews David House and John Haytock. A graveside service will be held Monday, July 24th, 2017 in Kings Highway Cemetery at 11am. Smith Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford is handling arrangements.
