Obituary: Gheorghe Geambazi, 65, Of Bridgeport

Gheorghe Geambazi, age 65, of Bridgeport, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023.

Born in Calarasi, Romania, son of the late Andrei and Viorica Batu Geambazi, Gheorghe immigrated to the United States in 1985 and settled in Bridgeport. He had worked as a machine operator in the optics industry.

Mr. Geambazi is survived by his brother, Ionel Geambazi of Bridgeport, a sister Jennie Babu and her husband Michael of Fairfield as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins here and in Romania.

Funeral services were held on August 9, at St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church, 504 Sport Hill Rd., Easton, with the Rev. Fr. George M. Coca officiating. Burial followed in Lakeview Cemetery, Boston Ave., Bridgeport.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Dimitrie Orthodox Church.
