Obituary: Jose DaSilva Pereira, 75, Of Bridgeport

Jose DaSilva Pereira, age 75, of Bridgeport, beloved husband of Lorraine Householder Pereira, peacefully entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Donoes, Montalegre Portugal to the late Antonio and Ana DaSilva Pereira on February 5, 1948, Joe had been a longtime resident of Bridgeport. He was a foreman for O&G Construction where he retired from after many years of dedicated service. Joe loved the outdoors where he could be found working in his garden and tending to his fig trees, fishing and hunting. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Joe loved spending time with his family and friends, but most of all, his grandchildren, who brought him joy beyond measure.

In addition to his loving wife, Lorraine, Joe's memory will be lovingly remembered by his two children, Joseph Pereira, of Bridgeport and Lorraine (John) Larocca, of Trumbull; his two cherished and adored grandchildren, Maria and Michael Larocca, of Trumbull, whom he loved more than life itself; his brothers and sisters, Alvaro (Mary) Pereira, of Milford, DE, Cacilda Vince, of Trumbull, Amaro Pereira, of Bridgeport, Mariana Edo (Martin), of Hudson, NH, and Arminda Casey, of Trumbull. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio and Ana DaSilva Pereira; his brother, Antonio Pereira; and brothers-in-law, Raymond Vince and Michael Casey.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Vincent's Medical Center for all of the professional care and compassion shown.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by a Graveside Committal Service at 11:45 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull.
