Obituary: Joseph Robert Feczko, 56; Formerly Of Bridgeport

He worked for several years in custodial and driver capacities including for Fairfield University, Guida Milk & Dairy and Pella Windows.

Family and friends may join in a memorial service to honor the life of Joseph Robert Feczko, beloved brother, who left this life on May 12, 2017, in Stratford, CT at age 56. Born in Bridgeport, on March 21, 1961, Joseph was the son of the late Julius J. Feczko and the late Ruth E. (Talbot, Feczko) Mozzi. He resided in Bridgeport for many years before moving to Stratford.

Joseph attended Bassick High School in Bridgeport and Bunnell High School in Stratford. He later proudly received his CDL Class B license through Allstate Tractor Training School, in Shelton. He was employed over several years by various companies in custodial and driver capacities including Fairfield University, Fairfield; Guida Milk and Dairy in Trumbull; and most recently, Pella Windows in Monroe.

Joseph enjoyed music, and all sorts of cars, taking long drives, and especially spending time and holidays with family.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, John and Mary Feczko; maternal grandparents, Milton and Elizabeth Talbot; stepfather, Paul M. Mozzi; stepsister, Janice D. Jelley; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joseph is survived by his sister, Linda Feczko and her husband, Jonathan Roper, of New Haven; stepbrothers Leonard Mozzi and his wife, Helen, of Indianapolis; and Douglas Mozzi and his spouse, Ari Abu Bakar, of New Westminster, B.C.; nephews and nieces, as well as friends and many cousins who were special to him including, but not limited to: Deborah Jacques of Stratford, Sandra Nagy of Milford, Bonnie Quinn of Ansonia, Margaret Feczko, John Feczko and Elizabeth Parker of New York, and Deborah Matthews of Oxford.

We deeply mourn his loss and miss his warm smile, his big hugs and the kindness always in his heart.

The Spear-Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, is in charge of arrangements. There are no calling hours. The service of remembrance will take place Saturday, August 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Putney Chapel, 5936 Main Street, Stratford, with the Reverend Dr. Alida Ward officiating, followed by interment in Mt. Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. Donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to The American Cancer Society; Samaritans Inc., Boston; or to a charity of choice.
