Obituary: Laura E. Williamson (Lafontaine), 99

Laura E. Williamson (Lafontaine), age 99, formally of Bridgeport, passed away peacefully the morning of September 28, 2023, in Stratford, Ct, after a long Illness. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Arthur B. Williamson, Her son Ronald A. Williamson, Son-in-law- Frederick Klein, and her parents, Damase and Alberta Fortier Lafontaine. Brothers, Julian, Albert, Emile and Joseph David Lafontaine. Sisters Beatrice Cote and Rita Smith.

She is survived by her dedicated daughters Patricia Klein and Nancy ( James ) Tabak and grandchildren- David (Jackie), Nicole, and Bryan Tabak; Her sisters Bernadette Kent and Cecile Cone; and many nieces and nephews.

Laura was born in Old Town, Maine, on June 20, 2024. She moved to Bridgeport at age seven after many moves to other states due to her father's job. She moved to Tennessee briefly to be with her husband while he was in the Army. They Moved back to Bridgeport when he was transferred to Europe during WWII.

She loved playing Pinochle with Rita and David every Sunday.

The family would like to thank the Staff of Lord Chamberlain, where she resided for the last five years. Especially James Porter, LPN, and Chris White, APRN. Also, heartfelt thanks for the Care, compassion, and support provided to both her and her daughters by Brian RN and Hartford Healthcare Hospice during this challenging time.

A graveside service occurred at St Micheal's Cemetery in Stratford on Oct. 13, 2023.
