Obituary: Lois Ann Caron (nee Hidu), 82, Of Bridgeport

Lois Ann Caron (nee Hidu), 82, passed beyond the veil July 11, 2023 at Yale New Haven Hospital surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Bridgeport, Lois was raised in Fairfield attending Andrew Warde High School and later, the University of Connecticut.

Pursuing her hobbies of crochet and knitting, she began experimenting with creating her own hand dyed yarns in the basement of her home. Thus began the creation of The Caron Collection, the needlepoint design and artisan yarn company in Stratford. Her company has achieved an international reputation in this field.

Lois loved books and was a voracious reader. She was also a very adventurous traveler and traveled extensively to most regions of our planet.

She is predeceased by her parents, Louis Hidu and Norma Hidu. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Hidu of Fairfield, a brother Louis of Coalfield, TN, her nephew Michael Liam Murphy of Fairfield and many cousins.

A celebration of her life will occur August 4th @ 4PM, with visitation from 2-4 PM at Spear Miller Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield.

A private internment will be held at a future date.
