Open Detonation Of Munitions Scheduled In Bridgeport: Officials
Residents who live near Lake Success Business Park are urged "to remain calm during periods of loud noises in the area."
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The open destruction of Munitions and Explosives of Concern found at Lake Success Business Park, the former Remington Park, in Bridgeport is scheduled to begin July 6 and run through the end of the month, according to Mayor Joe Ganim.
"Sporting Goods Properties, Inc. (SGP) has obtained this approved plan from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and will begin working throughout Lake Success Business Park," Ganim said in a statement. The work will begin on the 6th and is slated to be completed by July 31.
"The Bridgeport Fire, Police, and Health Departments have been made aware of these plans and encourage all residents living near Lake Success Business Park to remain calm during periods of loud noises in the area," Ganim said.
