''THE OVAL PORTRAIT ''movie based on the novel by EDGAR ALLAN POE certainly stands out as nearly POES' best novel yet.IT takes place in a large home no doubt during the CIVIL WAR .A runaway enemy soldier finds refuge in a home and a love interest develops.Shortly as time passes he is captured and time passes and REBECCA the main woman character dies.AT the return of the soldier after the war he discovers shes deceased but can not accept the fact she is gone from him forever for in his mind she is very much alive.The movie is an emotional roller coaster with a deep love twist between two people.The movie is spine tingling in some scenes but the story lingers in your mind way after the film ends.IT left me with an impression of POE.THE author no doubt was a genius especially with this lengthy piece .SO creative was he that his works still entertain us many years later.
