P.T.Barnum had it ALL.

So much has been published on P.T.BARNUM yet there are more facts and story lines depicting his fascinating lifestyle.P.T.BARNUM was a CONNECTICUT native born here in BETEL,CT.During his lifetime he wore many hats such as MAYOR OF BRIDGEPORT,AUTHOR,Philantropist,business man,also politician and of course no doubt the greatest showman that ever lived .With the circus and museums he gained fame and fortune.HE lived from 1810-1891.IN his time he developed SEASIDE PARK and had a home there.HE helped develop BRIDGEPORT HOSPITAL IN 1878.

Over the years he promoted long time friend TOM THUMB in his NEW YORK CITY MUSEUM.HE put together the astounding RINGLING BROTHERS',BARNUM AND BAILEY CIRCUS which was quite a feat back in the day.BARNUMS' CIRCUS and museum made him a fortune.This helped make friends with ABRAHAM LINCOLN,QUEEN VICTORIA OF ENGLAND ,and MARK TWAIN.PT.originally from BETHEL CT.Born there in 1810.IN 1841 BARNUM bought the SCUDDER MUSEUM in NEW YORK CITY from money he made over the years in all his endeavors.The collection there was $50,000 for that era that was a mass fortune.The location of the museum was lower BROADWAY IN NEW YORK CITY.This brought him more fame and more fortune.

BARNUM accomplished a lot in his lifetime.HE left behind a great personal history as well as a museum in BRIDGEPORT we can still enjoy today..
