Bridgeport Teen Charged As Adult In Fatal Shooting (patch.com) — Bridgeport residents are learning more about a July 27 fatal shooting on Catherine Street, where 18-year-old North End resident and former Bullard-Havens basketball standout Leon Richardson was killed. Police say 17-year-old Jabez Holley from the Hollow neighborhood has now been charged as an adult with murder, is held on $1.5 million bond, and detectives are still seeking information from the public.

Bridgeport Hospital Begins Offering Aquablation Therapy For Enlarged Prostate (patch.com) — Men in Bridgeport now have access to Aquablation therapy at Bridgeport Hospital, a robotic, heat-free waterjet procedure for treating enlarged prostate while aiming to reduce common surgical side effects. Hospital leaders say the new option expands advanced urology care close to home for patients dealing with disruptive urinary symptoms.
   

3. Back To School: Bridgeport 2026-27 School Calendar (patch.com) — Families in Bridgeport can now map out the entire 2026–27 school year, with the district releasing key dates from the August 27 first day through June's last day. The calendar highlights holidays, recess periods, and early dismissal days, helping parents plan childcare, vacations, and work schedules around Bridgeport Public Schools' timetable.
   

4. Fairfield police investigate church vandalism incidents (ctpost.com) — Police say a 66-year-old Bridgeport man was arrested in Fairfield after allegedly interfering with officers investigating vandalism at local churches and being found drinking holy water during two disturbances. Fairfield police emphasize they take incidents at houses of worship seriously and are asking anyone who sees suspicious activity to contact them as the vandalism probe continues.
