Person Of Interest ID'd In Fatal Rt. 8 Hit-And-Run Crash

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Police have identified a person of interest after a female pedestrian was killed on Rt. 8 southbound Oct. 25. The person of interest may have been the responsible driver, police said.

Witnesses originally described a dump truck with a red or orange cab as the vehicle that hit the woman and fled the scene, State Police said. Further investigation revealed that a blue Peterbilt dump truck was involved.

Maria Mendoza-Robles, 54, was killed near exit 5 in Bridgeport after being hit in the left center lane of four.

The accident remains under investigation.
