.AH ! YES THE MURDERS IN THE RUE MORGUE BY EDGAR ALLAN POE very much a masterpiece of suspense even after all the years that have passed.I saw five films of readings from POES' listed above and learned so much so quickly that POE was indeed a genius.HIS main character AUGUST DUPIN and a friend discuss the deaths of two women at length.After several discussions and the police still baffled DUPIN puts the solutions to the murders together like a puzzle.HE proves that he was right in his deductions and when the last man shows up in the end he confesses to what he saw and knew about what happened.The killer turns out to be a ape of some nature and the murders are solved.DUPIN somehow knew that no human could have committed these crimes .And also again the murders took place in a locked room including locked windows a trait used in prior POES' tales of murder.DUPIN turns out to be the hero of the story when all is said and done.
