Police Investigating Bridgeport Shooting: Reports

The shooting was reported just before midnight on Saturday, DoingItLocal reported on Sunday.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Brooklawn Avenue this weekend, according to published reports.

DoingItLocal.com reported a Bridgeport police dispatcher received a call of shots fired on the 600th block of Brooklawn Avenue just before midnight. Just after 12 a.m., an overtime detail officer at an area hospital called that a gunshot wound victim had arrived at the hospital by private vehicle, the outlet first reported.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to one of his ankles, and shell casings were found next to 600 Brooklawn Ave., the outlet reported. Police are now actively investigating, according to the report.

It was not immediately clear if the two incidents are related.
