Silver Alert For 2-Year-Old Bridgeport Child Canceled: Update

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A child for whom a Silver Alert was issued Friday was found safe mid-day Saturday, according to Bridgeport police.

"This is still an active investigation and more to follow, but the child has been found safely," police said in a social media post.

About 7:15 p.m. Friday, Bridgeport emergency personnel received a report that a child's biological father had come to a park at Wordin Avenue and Hanover Street and took the child, who was under the care of a foster parent, police said.

The father is Douglas James, age 30, according to police, who said James was driving a maroon 2014 Honda Civic EX with the registration number BE36105.
