Red Hot Chili Peppers Join John Mayer To Headline 'Sound On Sound'
The 2023 Sound on Sound music extravaganza in Bridgeport's Seaside Park will also feature Alanis Morrisette, Gin Blossoms, Hozier and more.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Mayer and Alanis Morrisette have been announced as the headliners of the 2023 Sound on Sound music festival Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 in Bridgeport's Seaside Park.
Mayer, a Bridgeport native who grew up in Fairfield, was named as a headliner earlier this year, with Red Hot Chili Peppers and Morrisette and the full lineup announced this week.
The Chili Peppers, which were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, have not played a concert in Connecticut in more than 20 years.

"Catch Red Hot Chili Peppers, the hometown legend John Mayer & many more with a brand new festival experience, one massive stage + no overlapping sets!" the event's organizers wrote on Facebook.
More than 20 bands are scheduled to play the festival, which is making some changes for 2023.

There will be one stage, and the more room to roam, because the event will be in a different part of the park from last year.
Additionally, there will be three-times as many food options available, and upgraded restrooms that offer flushable toilets. Mobile towers with Wi-Fi will also be installed this year.
