A kickoff for the event will take place on August 6 at the University of Bridgeport Pedestrian Mall with live entertainment and refreshments. Alyssa Rae Taglia of News Channel 8 will emcee the event. Participants in the challenge may join as individuals or as a team and will compete for prizes in categories such as most steps taken and most funds raised.
