I remember the DEWHIRST DAIRY at 2500 MADISON AVE.BRIDGEPORT,CT,I was quite young when I walked past the dairy heading up VINCELETTE-ST.going to visit friends.I could not find a lot of info on the dairy but it excited me anyway of the facts I did come across.Years ago the BRIDGEPORT POST covered a nice story on the dairy.

SOME facts on the dairy are below listed-

THE cities'oldest horse lived on the property.

UPON the horse' death the horse was buried on the property.

IN later years STOP N' SHOP built a store there on the property and today it is boarded up another blighted building for our city.

JOSEPH DEWHIRST SR.owned the dairy back in the day.

SAD to see the dairy gone and now the property sits idle just another reminder of what it was BACK IN THE DAY.
