Another well known actor from Bridgeport rose to fame on LAW AND ORDER SVU.RICHARD BELZER born right here in Bridgeport April 8,1944.Not only was he an actor but he also did stand up comic work and was an author too.Went on to be real famous for his portrayal of DETECTIVE JOHN MUNCH in LAW AND ORDER SVU .HE came from a JEWISH family background.Later attended FAIRFIELD WARD HIGH SCHOOL.Later went to college in MASSACHUSETTS.HE got real famous but it took a while.
RICHARD BELZER worked here in the city as a reporter for THE BRIDGEPORT POST.-HE also did census taking,salesman,and dock worker.IN his younger years in the 70's and 80's he was an occassional actor.LAW AND ORDER took him on the road to fame.
