Secretary Of State Proposes January For Bridgeport Mayoral Primary
The primary between John Gomes and Joe Ganim was ordered by a court.
BRIDGEPORT, CT — The Connecticut Secretary of State's office is proposing Jan. 23 for a mayoral primary in Bridgeport between John Gomes and Mayor Joe Ganim, the Connecticut Post reported.
The court-ordered primary between the two was called after Gomes proved to a judge that ballot stuffing had occurred during the September primary.
Last week, Ganim narrowly defeated Gomes, who ran as an Independent, in the general election, but if Gomes were to win the primary, there would be another general election to decide who will be Bridgeport's mayor.
