Seriously Injured Bridgeport Man Found In Street: Bridgeport Police

Police are asking for the public's help in finding out what happened.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — A 54-year-old Bridgeport man was seriously injured Tuesday night at the intersection of Stratford and Bishop avenues in Bridgeport, and police are asking for the public's help in finding out what happened.

The victim was discovered at about 10:30 p.m., and Bridgeport Police Capt. Lonnie Blackwell, M.S., said that "preliminary reports indicate the victim may have been struck by a vehicle."

A suspect vehicle, however, has not yet been fully identified.

Blackwell said the man was found lying on the ground at the intersection, and emergency personnel from American Medical Response, the Bridgeport Fire Department and Bridgeport Police all responded to the scene to investigate.

The victim is being treated at Bridgeport Hospital; his identity and condition were not disclosed.
